Grasp of Avarice is a Destiny 2 dungeon introduced with Bungie’s 30th Anniversary event on December 7, 2021. In this dungeon, Guardians venture into the depths of the Cosmodrome, battling Fallen and Hive enemies while navigating through treasure-themed encounters inspired by the infamous loot cave.
This D2 dungeon has 3 encounters that drop various Legendary weapons, unique GoA armor sets (you can check their appearance for each class below), and the Exotic Rocket Launcher, Gjallarhorn.
Here’s what you’ll find in this guide:
We’ll also cover how to get the Gjallarhorn, highlight the God rolls for each legendary weapon, and explain which ones are worth farming.

To get Gjallarhorn in Destiny 2:
- Buy the 30th Anniversary Pack – This is required to unlock Gjallarhorn.
- Start the Quest – Go to Xur’s Treasure Hoard in Eternity and pick up the “And Out Fly the Wolves” quest.
- Finish the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon – Complete this dungeon to continue.
- Complete Quest Steps – Follow the steps, including collecting Wolfpack Rounds by defeating strong Fallen in the Cosmodrome and visiting Shaw Han and Banshee-44.
- Assemble Gjallarhorn – Return to Shaw Han to finish the quest and receive Gjallarhorn.
Grasp of Avarice also offers the following collectibles:
- Hraesveglur Exotic Gjallarhorn ornament: To unlock the Hraesveglur ornament for Gjallarhorn, you need to collect 12 hidden messages from Wilhelm-7 within the Grasp of Avarice dungeon. Finding all 12 messages completes the “The Richest Dead Man Alive” triumph in the 30th Anniversary Vidmaster seal, rewarding you with the ornament.
- Catalyst: To get the Gjallarhorn catalyst, run the Grasp of Avarice dungeon again after unlocking Gjallarhorn. Look for three special yellow-bar enemies throughout the dungeon. Damage each one until it drops a “Burden of Riches” debuff, then quickly carry it to a nearby chest to remove the debuff. Repeat this for all three enemies to unlock the catalyst, which boosts Gjallarhorn’s performance by adding a second rocket in the magazine and enhancing its Wolfpack Rounds.
- Exclusive Emblems. You can get 2 emblems from the Grasp of Avarice.
- Absolutely Cursed: you must complete the GoA Dungeon for the first time (Grasp of Avarice Complete).

Grasp of Avarice Armor Sets
As all other Destiny 2 dungeons, the Grasp of Avarice dungeon includes a unique armor set for each class.
Below, you can see GoA armor sets for Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans.
Hunter | Titan | Warlock |
Twisting Echo Set | Descending Echo Set | Corrupting Echo Set |
Twisting Echo Mask | Descending Echo Helm | Corrupting Echo Cover |
Twisting Echo Grips | Descending Echo Gauntlets | Corrupting Echo Gloves |

Twisting Echo Cloak | Descending Echo Mark | Corrupting Echo Bond |
These unique armor sets from the Grasp of Avarice dungeon look great for each class (in my opinion) and reflect the GoA dungeon’s distinct style. They’re surely not worse than such popular sets as the Prophecy gear and are great for transmogrification.
Master Grasp of Avarice Rewards
The Grasp of Avarice dungeon in Destiny 2 has a Master version. Instead of Adept weapons like those found in Master Raids, Grasp of Avarice rewards players with Artifice armor.
Each piece of Artifice armor includes an extra mod slot that helps refine your stat distribution. This special slot can hold Artifice mods, which give a +3 bonus to a chosen stat without using any armor energy. This makes it easy to boost a stat to the next tier with no drawbacks.
