The Last Wish takes place in the Dreaming City and is one of the most iconic raids in Destiny 2. This PvE instance has several challenging bosses, including Kalli, Shuro Chi, Morgeth, and Riven.
The LW raid’s story spins around the Awoken Queen, Mara Sov, and her attempt to cleanse the Dreaming City of Riven’s corruption. Guardians will need to defeat Riven (it is a powerful Ahamkara, a wish-granting dragon) to stop her wishes from further spreading chaos.
One of the raid’s most unique features is the Shuro Chi Wish Wall. It is a hidden room that allows players to input specific wish combinations. These wishes can teleport you to different encounters, unlock special rewards, or trigger various Easter eggs which we’ll tell you more about below.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to find the Wish Wall, explain how it works, and provide all the wish codes.
D2 Wish Wall Codes Explained
As stated previously, at the start of the Last Wish raid, there’s a hidden room with 21 buttons—20 on the wall and one on the ground. By shooting the correct pattern on the buttons and stepping on the plate, players can activate various wishes, each offering different effects or rewards in the game.
Here’s a breakdown of the wishes:
- Wish 1: Grants an Ethereal Key
- Wish 2: Spawns a chest between Morgeth and the Vault
- Wish 3: Unlocks an Emblem
- Wish 4: Teleports you to Shuro Chi, the Corrupted
- Wish 5: Teleports you to Morgeth, the Spirekeeper
- Wish 6: Teleports you to the Vault
- Wish 7: Teleports you to Riven of a Thousand Voices
- Wish 8: Plays the song “Hope for the Future”
- Wish 9: Activates Failsafe Easter Egg dialogue
- Wish 10: Activates Drifter Easter Egg dialogue
- Wish 11: Adds Grunt Birthday Party effect to headshots
- Wish 12: Creates a visual effect around your head
- Wish 13: Adds the Extinguish mechanic (if one player dies, the team is sent to Orbit)
- Wish 14: Spawns Corrupted Eggs throughout the raid
- Wish 15: “You wish for a new pathway”
Each button can display one of 16 symbols, including fish, snakes, dragons, and birds. You can make as many wishes as you want, but teleporting wishes prevent restarting the raid from the beginning. Using Wish 4, for example, allows you to skip ahead to Shuro Chi and backtrack to a secret chest.
Wishing Room Location
The Wishing Room in the Last Wish raid is a secret area that is located at the start of the raid. It’s accessible before any major encounters, making it easy for you to reach without progressing too far into the LW. This room has the Wall of Wishes inside: it is a large wall with 20 symbols and one button.
To find the Wishing Room, follow the instructions below.
- After reaching the door for Kalli, the first boss, turn left and look for a large pool of water.
- In the far-right corner of the grotto, you’ll spot lights and some green grass. Jump over to the platform, then look up for another similar ledge.
- Keep following the path marked by flowers and crawl through some small openings until you reach a cavern above the grotto. Jump across, and you’ll arrive at the Wishing Room.
To use the Wall of Wishes, shoot the wall panels to change them into the symbols needed for your wish. Once you’ve completed the correct pattern, step on the plate in front of the wall to activate your wish.
Remember: using certain wishes, like teleporting, will prevent you from returning to the LW start unless you complete the raid or wait for the weekly reset.
Wish 1: Wish to Feed an Addiction
This wish grants you an Ethereal Key, which can be used to open an extra chest after defeating the final boss in the raid. It allows you to get bonus loot at the end of your run.
Wish 2: A Wish for Material Validation
This wish spawns a hidden chest after the Morgeth encounter. To open it, you’ll need a Glittering Key, which is a rare drop from Riven. Inside, you may find a special ship as a reward.
Wish 3: A Wish for Others to Celebrate Your Success
Unlocks the “Numbers of Power” emblem for your entire fireteam. This is a fun way to commemorate your run with a special emblem.
Wish 4: A Wish to Look Athletic and Elegant
This wish teleports your fireteam straight to Shuro Chi, skipping previous encounters. It’s commonly used by Guardians to farm this encounter for quests or bounties.
Wish 5: A Wish for a Promising Future
Teleports your team directly to the Morgeth, the Spirekeeper encounter. This saves time by skipping earlier sections of the raid.
Wish 6: A Wish to Move the Hands of Time
This wish transports your fireteam to the Vault encounter, bypassing the initial parts of the raid. It’s handy if you want to focus on the later stages.
Wish 7: A Wish to Stay Here Forever
Sends your fireteam directly to the final boss, Riven of a Thousand Voices. This lets you jump right into the toughest part of the raid without needing to clear previous encounters.
Wish 8: A Wish to Stay Here Forever
Plays the song “Hope for the Future” by Paul McCartney during the raid, adding a unique and uplifting soundtrack to your experience.
Wish 9: A Wish to Stay Here Forever
Activates humorous dialogue from Failsafe, who comments on getting a new body throughout the raid. It’s a fun Easter egg.
Wish 10: A Wish to Stay Here Forever
This wish adds new dialogue from the Drifter, giving players an extra layer of voiceover commentary during their raid experience.
Wish 11: A Wish to Stay Here Forever
Adds the “Grunt Birthday Party” effect to headshot kills, making enemies explode into confetti accompanied by a celebratory sound. It’s a nod to the Halo series.
Wish 12: A Wish to Open Your Mind to New Ideas
This wish places a crown of roses on each player’s head, adding a decorative and unique cosmetic effect for the duration of the raid.
Wish 13: A Wish for the Means to Feed an Addiction
Activates the “Petra’s Run” challenge, where a single death will cause the entire fireteam to return to orbit. Completing this grants a special triumph and is required for the “Riven’s Bane” title.
Wish 14: A Wish for Love and Support
Spawns Taken Eggs throughout the raid. These eggs can be destroyed using the Wish-Ender bow, granting you bonus rewards.
Wish 15: “This One You Shall Cherish”
Unlocks a hidden pathway in the Last Wish raid. Its entire purpose remains a mystery, however, it encourages further exploration of this raid, which is good.
